Straight answers on quotes, warranties, parts and the faults we see most.
How does the quote work?
Tell us your car details and what needs fixing. We’ll match you with a suitable independent garage that can provide a written quote explaining the recommended work and expected cost. You can review the quote before deciding whether to go ahead.
Is the price on the quote guaranteed?
Your written quote sets out the agreed work and cost. If the garage discovers additional problems, it will explain the extra work and costs and get your approval before proceeding.
Will using an independent garage affect my manufacturer warranty?
Using an independent garage does not automatically invalidate your manufacturer warranty. However, servicing and repairs must meet the manufacturer’s applicable requirements. If your car is still under warranty, let us know so the garage can take this into account.
Do you use genuine or aftermarket parts?
Depending on the repair, the garage may recommend genuine manufacturer parts or suitable aftermarket alternatives. The available options and associated costs can be discussed with the garage before the work begins.
Can you collect my car?
Yes, collection and drop-back can be arranged through most of our partner garages, depending on your location and the garage’s availability. Let us know if you need collection when requesting your quote, and we’ll help check the available options.
What if my car isn't drivable?
If your car isn’t safe to drive, let us know when requesting a quote. We’ll help check whether a suitable garage can arrange vehicle recovery or collection, depending on your location and availability. Please don’t drive your car if it may be unsafe.
How long will the repair take?
The repair time depends on the type of work required, your car and the availability of any necessary parts. Your written plan will outline the expected time your car will be off the road, so you can plan ahead.
What does a diagnostic actually include?
A diagnostic helps identify the cause of a warning light, unusual noise or other problem with your car. Depending on the symptoms, the garage may use diagnostic equipment to check fault codes and carry out further inspections or tests. The recommended checks and any additional repair costs will be explained before further work proceeds.
Do you cover vans and light commercials?
Our network focuses on car servicing, repairs and diagnostics. If you need work carried out on a van or light commercial vehicle, contact us with the vehicle details and the issue. We’ll check whether a suitable garage is available for your vehicle and repair requirements.
How do I pay?
Payment arrangements can depend on the garage and the work carried out. Before booking, confirm the accepted payment methods and when payment is due with the garage handling your repair.
